Changes of Rules and Policies
Although every effort has been made to assure the accuracy of the information in this catalog, students and others who use this catalog should note that laws, rules, and policies change from time to time and that these changes may alter the information contained in this publication. The trustees, the chancellor, and the president are authorized by law to adopt, amend, or repeal rules and policies that apply to students. This catalog does not constitute a contract or the terms and conditions of a contract5 between the student and the university or the California State University. The relationship of students to the university and the California State University is one governed by statute, rules, and policy adopted by the legislature, the trustees, the chancellor the presidents and their duly authorized designess. Additionally, the California State University may, immediately and without notice, modify, alter, adjust or amend any rule, policy, activity or item contained in this catalog if a force majeure event occurs. Force Majeure events include, but are not limited to, (a) acts of God; (b) flood, fire, earthquake or explosion; (c) terrorist threats or acts, riot or other civil unrest; (d) government orders or laws; (e) judicial orders or rulings; (f) national or regional emergencies; (g) strikes, labor stoppages or slowdowns; (h) epidemic, pandemic or health outbreaks which may cause serious illness; (i) power or transportation disruptions; and (j) other similar occurrences beyond the reasonable control of the California State University.

The California State University Channel Islands catalog is published to help prospective and continuing students make informed decisions to fulfill their academic goals. This catalog is only available online at: www.csuci.edu.
Policy
Each year, Strategic Enrollment Management and Student Success - on behalf of the Office of the Chancellor - coordinates the review and updating of the CSU Mandatory Catalog Copy. California State Universities are required to include this copy in all paper and electronic campus catalogs as well as on web pages in which these topics are extensively presented.
The CSU Mandatory Catalog Copy for academic year 2026-2027 is provided beginning in Section I. The information has been reviewed and approved for publication by Strategic Enrollment Management and Student Success, Academic Affairs, Budget Office, General Counsel, Human Resources and Public Affairs in the Office of the Chancellor. A mark-up copy is also attached showing the changes from the CSU Mandatory Catalog Copy for academic year 2026-2027 for your reference.

This policy is issued pursuant to Section II of the Standing Orders of the Board of Trustees of the California State University as further delegated by the Standing Delegations of Administrative Authority.
